Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent granted for change of use of offices to a residential dwelling at Fantasy House, Steyning, West Sussex

Planning and Listed Building Consent has been granted by Horsham District Council for the change of use of the unit from an office to a dwelling.  The unit was a listed structure, within a conservation area, with no car parking but within close proximity to Steyning High Street.

We had to demonstrate that the office use was no longer viable or the best use for the unit before the Council would recommend approval of the residential use.  The other issues that had to be addressed as part of the submission was that several residential flats had recently been permitted to the rear of the site, just two metres away from a proposed bedroom window.

We were able to address the potential overlooking issues through detailed cross section plans and by ensuring that this was fully covered in the Planning Statement.

"I highly recommend Kathryn for her foresight and vision in helping me though a series of planning hurdles and applications. About 5 years ago I purchased some tumbled down offices in a town centre which were listed and in a conservation area. The objective was to maximise value.

Kathryn has prepared really thorough and well written/presented planning statements to accompany planning and listed building consent applications.  She advised on strategy, drawings and specialist reports.  Her hard work has paid off as I now have residential permissions which have enhanced the value of the site.

Kathryn has held principle positions in a local planning authority and I believe this gives her a unique ability to see the process from both sides!"

Another excellent result for Bourne Rural.
