Working on behalf of a local resident’s group, Bourne Rural prepared a robust objection to applications which sought to secure for the siting of up to 31 mobile homes as seasonal workers’ accommodation, under permitted development opportunities. The accommodation was to provide for up 130 workers during peak periods and these mobile homes were sited within close proximity to existing residential development. Through detailed research and case law analysis, it became evident that the proposals failed to meet the requirements of permitted development. A robust assessment was submitted on behalf of local residents and the applications were subsequently refused.
Bourne Rural are committed to supporting rural development wherever possible but these applications were fundamentally flawed as identified through the extensive research undertaken. They could not be considered to meet the core requirements of the agricultural permitted development opportunities.
