Conversion of Agricultural Barn to Dwelling in the Cotswolds
Full planning permission has been granted by Cotswold District Council for the conversion of a modern portal framed agricultural barn to a six-bedroom house, the conversion of another barn to provide an office/studio and garage facilities, and the provision of a swimming pool, shed and BBQ area.
Strong planning arguments brought together by Bourne Rural and an excellent design produced by Duncan McKellar of Temple Ford Design helped to secure this permission for our client in the Cotswolds.
Although in a rural location, we were able to argue that the application buildings could be considered to be in a sustainable location as the occupiers would be able to walk or cycle to Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the Wold and there are local bus services nearby. Ecological mitigation was also put forward as part of the overall scheme.
Attention to detail and a well-designed proposal were key to achieving this successful outcome for our client.
