Supporting Local Residents with Robust Objection

Detailed analysis and a robust objection by Bourne Rural aided in the refusal of a planning application for the redevelopment of a rural site in North Hampshire, Hart District.

The proposals were for the demolition of all existing buildings and the erection of a “replacement” dwelling, detached triple garage, stable building and large area of residential curtilage.

Bourne Rural assessed the application and concluded that: the lawful use of the land was agricultural and not brownfield/previously developed land as averred by the applicant; the scale of the dwelling, and the extent of development, was so significant as to preclude any opportunity to reasonably be viewed as a replacement dwelling; and the redevelopment went far beyond the existing residential area. These arguments were consistent with the conclusions reached by the officer in their report.

Our client was delighted when planning permission was refused.
